ReplyDeleteI know! Singapore progressed so quickly that in a matter of two generations, the lingua franca has gone from dialect to mandarin (or tamil for the Indians?) to english. And it is a shame because stories are lost in the process.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it ironical that I can understand Don and his stories so much better than I could understand my own grandparents when they are alive?
