Retail therapy

What is it about being miserable and stressed that makes you want to blow all your money on something big, white and shiny?

Or forget all your plans not to snack and polish off an entire pack of cheese twisties and two packs of green tea in five minutes flat, while blasting loud music from your 5.1 speaker system, which incidentally is not compatible with that big, white and shiny machine?

I don't know why I know what kind of speaker jack a big, white and shiny machine has when I've never owned one. I don't know why I lurk on big, white and shiny sites like a lonely stalker.

When the spirit breaks, something big, white and shiny has got to take its place.

ah, I've been debating on getting a Mac or PC myself and I've gone with the easy to get software/have no money option of PC... Maybe my next one will be a Mac.

On a related note, my cousin got a Mac Mini and in the week that I was staying with him, he had to re-install/reboot thingies on it about 3-4 times... But I'm sure his was a flukey one and it at least this is more in my price range.

Hmm.. I thought that if you wanted to use 5.1 speakers on a Mac, either your speakers had to be able to produce a digital output or you had to get an external 5.1 sound card. My speaker system is analog and requires three jacks to plug into to get all 5 speakers working.. From what I understand, Mac only has one? Unless there is a cable that changes analog to digital?

My friend got a mac mini as well and had to exchange it at the store because it had problems. So I don't know... The Macbook pro possibly has battery problems, the Mac mini unknown installation/ CD Rom problems, but Eric is right, no viruses. :)

I'll be at crossroads when time comes. Either a Macbook or Dell laptop for me. A Mac machine can now dual boot.

Eric, I think I got my input/ output mixed up. Now I sound like a nurse in a hospital. :) I'm pretty fond of my surround sound, but I'm sure I'll be fine without it too, if the day should come. :)

MOFW, do you actually like Dell? For some reason I've had bad experiences shopping with Dell. It always seems cheap at first glance, but by the time you had in the stuff you want, it is not that cheap anymore...

Hmmm not really, I heard lots of bad dealings before. Just al-cheapo mode. Murphy Law: "Whatever can go wrong, will go wrong". haha

MOFW, I would go with Acer if I'm looking for a Windows laptop. They are quite reasonably priced and very stable too. Or if you want even cheaper, there is that Taiwanese brand Axus? that is even cheaper. :) I know someone who is using one without any major problem.

But I think you know more than me. :)

Do u mean Axine (saw at Carrefour before) or Asus? I don't really know much, but it's good to do own research when there is doubt. Still learning, currently stuck with my own PC problem.

Hmm. Actually I have no idea. :)
