I can barely read the covers since most of them are half hidden. But that top one is The Name of The Rose by Umberto Eco.

So you must be into thirteenth century historical fiction and/or semiotics, a plot element in much of Eco's writing and also his field of expertise.

That, and you love the library.

So, am I close?

MOFW - yes, I've been borrowing books from the library. How else will I get my reading fixes? ;) I'm very glad for the library because the opportunity cost of getting a lousy book is very low, so it means I can take risks with my reading. :)

Jim - almost, but you think much too highly of me. Here is the low down, from left to right:

Asterix and Black Gold
to make me laugh
Article on Thyroid cancer
for information (of the sobering variety)
Learn to play squash and racquetball in one weekend
current obsession/ hobby
Alone in the Universe?
for work, kinda. but it is quirky.
The Name of the Rose
my ambitious read. (it is very thick you know!)

The invention of the library is the greatest thing to happen to our species. I'd be in a life of crime if it weren't for the existence of libraries.
I haven't read an Asterix for ages. I kinda miss the high priest druid fella.
The Name of the Rose is a book for book lovers. Pity about the excessive use of latin and whatnot. The book needs footnotes! Those gudebooks are so hard to come by...
As to your query, well I surmise that you like books. And that you want to learn more about your friend's condition...

OH, I love the library." A good library is one of my favorite places in the whole world.*"

That's a paraphrase of a Kevin Kline quote from the movie Silverado. He was talking about saloons.

I always mix up salons and saloons. Just thought to let you know, Jim. :)
