Haze in Singapore

The haze is pretty bad here in Singapore the last couple of days.

It hit a PSI (Pollution Standard Index) of 150 at 9pm this evening. (Click here for larger pic.)

Like that how to run?

Here are some photos I've shamelessly stolen because I don't have any of my own.

here are my top 10 ways you can still run even with the haze hitting PSI 250...

1. use a scuba tank... not pretty, but adds weight training to your regimen...
2. use Darth Vader's respirator and scare all the little kids in your path...
3. wear a specially constructed sombrero or 10-gallon cowboy hat that creates a personal buffer/curtain of man-made rain around you as you run... not sure about how long the hose has to be tho... o_O
4. run indoors... preferably on a treadmill or it could get pretty dizzifying...
5. do a vertical marathon instead, up the tallest building you can find... make sure it is enclosed or else it's no different running outside without protection...
6. buy several packs of cigarettes, pluck out the filters, tape the filters together and use it as a breathing apparatus... not sure if you can suck in enough air to keep you going though...
7. buy a plane ticket to the nearest city outside the haze-zone and train there till the smoke clears, although your boss may not take too kindly to that long leave of absence...
8. find any way of making it rain, from doing the native American rain dance, to seeding the clouds, from not taking a bath (according to some old wives' tale - a sure way to make it rain), to washing your car (my brother-in-law swears that it rains whenever he does)...
9. get the government to build a gigantic dome over the entire city like i've been suggesting for the longest time... that way, we can centrally aircondition the entire city, removing the need worry about cold air escaping and al Fresco dining suddenly makes real sense...
10. Run inside VivoCity... it's opening its doors and it's supposed to be the size of Suntec and some other mall put together...

i do so hate the haze too...

Run inside vivocity! Now that's a thought! :) I would love to fly to Bali to run (obviously I have no idea which direction the smoke is coming from). The cigarettes, scuba tank and sombero ideas are hilarious! :) Regarding the giant dome, I think I would feel claustrophoobic..

Excuse me while I go wash my bicycle now. :)

B, yes it is pretty bad...

likewise i've been eating mooncakes, accumulating extra carbo+sugar, and it's so hazy for past few days that I couldn't do the usuals... :(
