Sony Ericsson k618i

I've got my eyes set on you. This 2 megapixel 3G phone with mobile blogging capabilities is going for only $98 at M1.

-----

Update: I'm having a serious case of gadget-envy. The k618i is at the moment out of stock. Tetanus's heart is stolen by the Sony Ericsson k800i, a mobile phone with a cyber-shot 3.2 megapixel camera. Surprisingly , it is retailing for $368, which is substantially cheaper than the Nokia N73 (also 3.2 megapixel) that is going for $498.

Check this black beauty out:

My heart throbs. Should I pay $270 more for a camera with a flash and higher resolution? I think I'll wait for the weekend to see what deals may come.

mn,

i know exactly what u mean, u gadget junkie u... i recognise the affliction cos i'm a sufferer too...
for example, recently the office landlord gave out souvenirs after the annual fire drill... which consisted of a four-in-one screwdriver set-cum-measuring tape-cum-LED torch on a key chain... it thrilled me the whole day long... heh heh...

having said that, however, have you taken a close look at the Nokia N series yet? perhaps you should before you get your heart set on this... check it out here...

mwahaha, i feel "e-veal" *faking a Brit accent*... as if i've just switched roles on you... and am the tempter instead of the temptee...

You sleep late. :)

heehee. Now we know what to get you...

The N series is cool. Especially the N73 with the 3.2 megapixel camera. But it costs a sweet $500 or so. If I'm paying $500 I would expect wi-fi too, but the N73 doesn't have it. I think some others may have, but those cost $788, which is insane!

Erm, yes, you are very tempting. ;)

I like the design of this phone. I think it's really sleek. If I didn't have my heart stolen by the K800, I'd have gotten this.

The K800 is cool. It has a 3.2 megapixel camera! Do you own one? Does it work well for you? I think all I really want is a camera-cum-hp.

No, I'm still using the K750i which still serves me very well; 2Mpx, artificial flash (though a flash attachment came bundled with the phone), renders colors very nicely. The K800i is marginally taller and just slightly thicker than the K750i.

Personally, I feel that it will make a great buy.

Sony Ericsson camera phones got the endorsement of a real photographer! I'm too excited for my own good. :)

re: sleep late... or gets up early... depending on your perspective... ;-)

ok... i confess, i'm a born again Nokia convert, so i'll not look at other brands, no matter how cool...

previously, i was a handphone agnostic, i owned everything from a motorola to a samsung, from siemens to the early ericssons...

Nokia spoils one... its user interface is one of the most intuitive, unlike some other brands where you have to plough through a manual the size of a yellow pages phonebook just to set the bloddy time... it's like discovering the Apple after having used the PC all your life and suddenly, you wonder why the hell you hadn't got one sooner, if you know what i mean... so, all those features mean nothing to me unless it's on a Nokia... sorry to be such a snob about it... or not...

MOFW, yes, if I was being pragmatic, I should get the k618i. 2 megapixel is probably more than enough... But have you seen the photos that the k800i takes??? wow!

TOT, I have only used Nokias thus far. Which makes me a little worried about switching over to SE now. I would love to get a Nokia.. just that the inexpensive low end ones (with 1.3 megapixel camera) don't look very good, and the better ones are just too ex. So hmm. Maybe I shouldn't trade in my battered Nokia 3110 just in case.

can always check photos taken by k618i before deciding. I compared between a Nokia and Sony Ericsson (SE) model before getting my k750i.
Do a research on users' opinions on the models of phone you're interested.

which I guessed you've done so :)

Oh, so you are using the k750i too! You like it? Thanks for the link. It is quite helpful! :)

It was a gift, i mean i chose it myself. I thought i bought it at a wrong time cos it costed abt $438 after trade-in. After 2 months, the price was slashed to $198. Ya now using not much complains, except sometimes the joystick is cranky. The newer models should not have this problem. You know PHONES...

Ouch. That's painful. Nvm, no regrets. Mobile phones will always depreciate anyway. At least it is not as pricey as a car! ;)
